In the midst of a potentially life altering decision on whether or not to leave the midwest, this is what my sister asks me via email about life in the northwest:
"One other thing I was thinking about...what kind of shoes do the women wear out there? I just can't go back to the Birkenstocks...I am all over the completely impractical shoe these days."
Ah, priorities.

You have to admit, it is a definite step up from birkenstock for the stay at home crowd. Working mom's get better shoes.
