That was my husband's question to me last night. We FINALLY carved our pumpkins and I had them out on the front porch.
Call me foolish, but I tend to go the way with carved pumpkins that Dr. Evil does with Austin Powers -I put them in an overly elaborate, easily escapable situation and walk away. I carve them, I put them on concrete steps, I light a tea light in them and I let the candle burn till it's done. Maybe it's naive, but I just don't think they are going to burn down the house. Did I miss a big Halloween tragedy about jack-o-lanterns? Other than the snarky teenagers smashing them??
