Mary Joe Putney – Her contemporary stuff is pretty lame - horrible characters and insipid plots. The historical stuff (which is most of what she has written) is ok, but nothing stellar.
Wild Child: A young woman who was terrorized as a child is now about to be engaged to an Earl. Said Earl has other things on his mind so he has his estranged twin step in for him to woo the “mad” young woman. Entertaining, touching and thankfully not rife with a whole lot of “just tell him you aren’t your brother already” crap. Not bad. Historical.
