mug shot vs driver's license photo

When you get right down to it, the only difference between the two is that most people attempt to smile for their driver's license. Not that it matters. I can count on one finger the time my driver's license didn't look like a mug shot and that was in Milwaukee, WI. The heartbreaking part was that that was the time they had my gender wrong and I had to get my picture retaken. And yes, the 2nd picture looked like a mug shot.
